1. Describe your personal style: “Vintage feminine frocks!”
2. Describe a typical day in the life of Xeng: “I get up at 9 am, have my first shoot at 10 am,
second shoot at 2 pm, then, if I’m still alive, my last shoot at 6 pm. Meals in between or in the
car, if I remember to eat!”
3. Who are your style icons? “It’s always changing. I’ve been in a Chloe Sevigny rut for a
while now, only because she doesn’t alter much of her vintage stuff, which is like me. I think we
both like to keep things in their original form and we can both get away with it! Like I wear my
grandmother’s stuff from the 60’s, just the way she wore it, and actually pull it off. My friends
always tease me, they call me ‘lola.’ I love Nicole Richie, Gwen Stefani, and Dita Von Teese.
4. What is your daily uniform? “Shu Uemura artists are always in all black.
It’s an unspoken rule. I guess all that makeup is enough color in one day.
5. What is your fool-proof outfit? “At night, I’ll always be in a dress. Anything above-the-knee
always works with statement shoes, always! During the day, when I’m not in black, I’ll wear my
grandmother’s day dresses with bejeweled flats or Havaianas, and oversized sunglasses.”
6. What are the essentials for a great makeup look? “Great day makeup consists of foundation
with SPF, bronzer, gloss, and mascara. Great night makeup should consist of waterproof
mascara, oil blotting sheets, and the perfect red lipstick.”
